Digital TDS tester.
TDS = total dissolved solids.
The unit of measurement of TDS is PPM (parts per million) which corresponds to mg/l.
TDS is generally perceived as a measure of water purity, which is not always true. For example, water rich in calcium and magnesium ions will indicate a high TDS but this does not mean that the water is impure or has negative health effects.
The TDS can be used for:
- see the approximate water quality (it only shows the load, not what the load is made of);
- check reverse osmosis systems, in particular the lifetime of the reverse osmosis membrane;
- check nanofiltration systems, especially the lifetime of the nanofiltration membrane.
- check the water for aquaristics.
In case you have ultrafiltration, microfiltration, ceramic filtration systems, the TDS meter will not help you to identify the water quality.
The device is delivered packed in a cardboard box.
