These filters are specially produced for use with the most dangerous (pathogenic) bacteria: E. coli, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Clostridium, as well as common and non-pathogenic bacteria like bacterial colonies.

The power to eliminate or destroy bacteria is Log 6, which means 99.9999%.

Using water filters for bacteria

These technologies for eliminating bacteria, protozoa, and viruses can be used even with untreated and undisinfected well water. The elimination of pathogenic bacteria (E. coli, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Clostridium, etc.) is a challenge for most filter manufacturers. That's why most labels have a small note warning the end-user, „do not use with microbiologically unsafe water.”.

The Clairify Quantum Disinfection purifiers can be used with microbiologically contaminated water, and the destruction efficiency is 99.9999%% even against the most dangerous bacteria. This technology works by destroying microorganisms.

Argonide NanoCeram filters have a similar efficiency of 99.9999% and this technology works by filtration/stoppage. Additionally, they stop endotoxins (bacteria destroyed following disinfection with various chemicals).

Both technologies require 1-micron pre-filtration, first for efficiency and second for extended service life.

In the case of Clairify Quantum Disinfection technology, mechanical pre-filtration to a 1-micron grade ensures that the disinfection medium (Quantum Disinfection) remains clean and can act with maximum efficiency to destroy bacteria, viruses, and protozoa such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

In the case of Argonide NanoCeram bacteria filtering technology, mechanical prefiltration to a 1-micron grade ensures that the Argonide NanoCeram filter will not become clogged before its service life (which can vary depending on the size of particles in the water).

Final recommendations regarding the two technologies for bacteria elimination.

We recommend using Clairify Quantum Disinfection purifiers first and foremost because there is no risk of them getting clogged with particles (if using a 1-micron grade pre-filter). Additionally, this technology does not allow biofilm to develop in the filter, meaning on the surface of the Quantum Disinfection filter medium.

We recommend Argonide NanoCeram filters as a safety measure even after water has been disinfected with Clairify Quantum Disinfection. We make this recommendation as a preventative measure against biofilm that may develop within the filter itself. Argonide NanoCeram filters can also be installed on chlorinated water as they can filter out endotoxins resulting from chlorine disinfection.

In the event that the number of bacteria in the water is so high that a 99.99% disinfection% is not sufficient, then both disinfection technologies will be used: the Clairify Quantum Disinfection purifier and Argonide NanoCeram. Recommended filtration order: 1 micron filter, Clairify Quantum Disinfection purifier, Argonide NanoCeram filter.
